Newsletters everyone reads as their own
Most newsletters are handled the same way: one list, one version, one send. And they are read accordingly, which is to say barely.
Caymland M4 knows every recipient. Their language, their interests, their purchases, their account manager. That is why a newsletter in Caymland M4 is one send, but not a mass mailing. Every recipient gets the version that fits them, and every reaction flows back into their profile.
Design without developers
- Drag-and-drop editor with blocks for text, images, buttons and columns. Plus blocks many newsletter tools lack: video, dynamic content, countdown, form pop-up and barcode.
- Templates and designs for everything that recurs. Built once in your company’s look, then you only swap the content.
- Your own code when you need it: edit the HTML directly.
- Plain text email when it should feel personal. It looks as if typed in Outlook, without newsletter styling.
- Preview text for the line next to the subject, UTM parameters added to every link automatically.
Full personalisation
- Every field from the profile, from the salutation to the contract end date, each with a fallback. If a value is missing, a sensible text appears instead of a gap.
- A personal sender. Sender and reply-to address can be resolved per recipient, for example the responsible adviser instead of “info@”.
- Blocks per audience. One section appears only for regular customers, another only for prospects. One newsletter, several versions.
- Content by interest. From the headless CMS, Caymland M4 picks the articles for each recipient that match their interest distribution. Whoever is interested in hiking holidays reads about hiking holidays.
- One send, every language. Translations hang off the original email, every contact receives their language, and anyone without a matching one gets the original.
- Preview as a real contact. You see the email as a specific person will receive it, with their booking if you like, on desktop or on the phone.
Checked before it goes out
A newsletter that lands in spam is wasted work. That is why the spam check tests before sending:
- your domain’s sender records: SPF, DKIM, DMARC, MX and reverse DNS
- links that are unreachable, unencrypted or shortened, images without alt text and oversized images
- a real test run: the email is sent and read back in, which establishes the spam filter rating, any blocklist entry and the verified signature
At the end there is an overall rating, and for every finding how to fix it. One click checks again.
A/B tests that decide
- Weighted variants. Subject, content or structure: you decide what share receives which version.
- A clear winner criterion: open rate, click rate or form submissions.
- Side-by-side comparison in the reports, so the next send learns from the last one.
At the right time
- Immediately or scheduled, with a start and an end. Large sends run in the background, with progress visible at any time.
- The optimal time per contact. In campaigns, Caymland M4 picks for each recipient the time they are most likely to open: within 24 hours, or the best day within a week.
- Frequency rules, so nobody is overwhelmed, and categories that are respected on every sending route.
Consent and deliverability
- Double opt-in for sign-ups, with a redirect to your page after confirmation.
- Preference centre: recipients choose topics, frequency, pauses and preferred channels themselves instead of unsubscribing entirely.
- One-click unsubscribe, also straight from the inbox via the unsubscribe header.
- Bounces processed automatically, hard and soft kept apart, every block with a reason.
Reports down to the individual contact
- Sent, opened, clicked, bounced, unsubscribed, for every send.
- Clean open rates: machine opens and link scanners are filtered out, so you count real readers.
- Click counts in the email itself. In the preview, every link shows how often it was clicked, with an export to Excel.
- Clicks per contact, comparison per variant and sends per language.
- Everything in the profile. Every open and every click appears in the contact’s timeline. Opens can earn points and feed into the interest distribution.
More than a newsletter
Any email can become part of a campaign: as a welcome series, as a reminder before an event, as the next email as soon as someone has received the last one. And with the AI assistant, drafts, translations and variants are created on request.
What this looks like day to day
The monthly newsletter. One send in German, French and English. Regular customers see their offer at the top, prospects an invitation to get to know you, and the middle section holds the articles that match each recipient’s interests.
The subject line test. Two subject lines each go to part of the list, measured by click rate. The reports show which one won, and the insight flows into the next send.
The association. Members choose in the preference centre which topics they receive and how often. The unsubscribe rate drops, because the alternative to “everything” is no longer “nothing”.
Questions & answers
Frequently asked questions
Do we need a separate newsletter tool?
No. Design, sending, consent and reporting live in Caymland M4, in the same system as your contacts. Every open and every click then appears in the contact profile and can feed into the points and the interest distribution.
Can we run A/B tests?
Yes. You create weighted variants and decide what the winner is measured by: open rate, click rate or form submissions. The reports compare the variants side by side.
How personal can a newsletter get?
Very. Any field from the contact profile with a fallback, blocks only certain audiences see, content from the headless CMS chosen by the recipient’s interests, a personal sender and every language in one send.
Will our newsletters end up in spam?
Before sending, the spam check tests your domain’s sender records (SPF, DKIM, DMARC), links, image texts and image sizes, and runs the email through once to see how spam filters and blocklists rate it. Every finding comes with how to fix it.
How do you handle unsubscribes and consent?
Sign-ups can run with double opt-in. Recipients unsubscribe with one click or choose topics, frequency and pauses in the preference centre. Bounces and unsubscribes are blocked automatically, with a reason.
When does the newsletter go out?
Whenever you like: immediately, scheduled or within a campaign. There, Caymland M4 can choose the optimal time for each contact within 24 hours or the best day within a week.
