Capability
Brands
Several brands in one system: logo, colours, fonts, tone of voice and sender details per brand, applied automatically.
One platform, as many brands as you need.
Stored once, applied everywhere.
Emails, landing pages, on-site messages and the assistant pick up the logo, colours and fonts of the responsible brand on their own.
Parent brand and its children.
A brand inherits from its parent and overrides only what is different about it.
Readability is checked.
Contrast is measured against WCAG right in the brand editor, with a suggestion when a button label is too weak.
One platform, and still every brand its own
As soon as a house runs more than one brand, the same game begins: one company has a different logo, the next a different house colour, and the third signs off with a different address. Running everything in one system has so far meant reproducing those differences in every single piece of content. Keeping them apart has meant one installation per brand, and losing the shared view of the customers.
Brands solve that in one place. You store each brand once, and the content takes what it needs.
What a brand holds together
- Logos: a main logo, a version for dark backgrounds and a signet for small spaces.
- Colours: primary, secondary, accent, background, text, muted text, links and borders. On request Caymland M4 derives the palette from your logo.
- Fonts for headings and body text, including your own font files.
- Tone of voice, so that the assistant writes in the right register as well.
- Sender and legal details, which appear in the footer of every email and in the imprint.
- Plus the brand's imagery, footers, print profile, websites and languages.
Even the small things belong to it, such as the corner radius of buttons, which then looks the same in emails, on landing pages and in on-site messages.
Assignment happens through categories
You assign a brand its categories. Content in those categories appears in that brand, everything else in the default brand. When a category moves to another brand, the system shows where it is coming from before you save.
This holds for emails, landing pages, on-site messages, forms, campaigns and files, and equally for SMS, WhatsApp and Viber.
Parent brand and its children
Brands can be ordered among themselves. A child brand inherits the details of its parent brand and stores only what is different about it: its own logo, but the same font. Lists are replaced, individual entries merged, and inheritance can be switched off per section.
A circle cannot occur; the system rejects a parent brand that would make itself a child.
Confirmed first, effective second
A brand starts as a draft and affects no content. Only once it is confirmed is it applied. Brands no longer needed are archived rather than deleted, so their history survives.
Readability is not a matter of taste
A house colour that looks good is not automatically one you can read text on. The brand editor measures contrast against WCAG as you set it: text on background, muted text, links and button labels, each with whether AA or AAA is reached. If a button label is too weak, the system suggests the correction straight away.
Accessibility is therefore not something checked at the end, but something that shows up while you are creating.
Your fonts stay with you
Own fonts are uploaded as WOFF2, WOFF, TTF or OTF. The files sit on your own Caymland server and are not pulled from an outside font service. That is a data protection difference, not a matter of taste: no connection is created between your reader and a third party.
What this looks like day to day
The group. Several companies in several countries share one platform. Each has its logo and its sender details, the font comes from the parent brand.
The agency. Every client is a brand. A new campaign gets the right category and looks right from the first draft.
The second line. A house runs a second brand alongside the main one for a different audience. Both work on the same contacts but appear separately.
Questions & answers
Frequently asked questions
Who is this worth it for?
For agencies looking after several clients, for groups with several companies, and for houses running several brands or locations. Instead of operating a separate installation per brand, you run them all in one system and still keep the customer data apart.
How does the system know which brand applies?
Through the content's category. Content in a brand's categories appears in that brand, everything else in the default brand. If there is no default brand, the presentation stays neutral.
Do we have to maintain everything again per brand?
No. A brand can sit under a parent brand and inherit its details. You only store what differs. Lists are replaced, individual entries merged, and inheritance can be switched off per section.
What happens to a brand that is not finished yet?
It stays a draft and affects no content at all. Only a confirmed brand is applied. Brands can also be archived rather than deleted.
Can we use our own fonts?
Yes, as WOFF2, WOFF, TTF or OTF. The files sit on your own Caymland server and are not pulled from an outside font service. In Outlook a standard font steps in instead, because its rendering does not support custom fonts.
Does the brand apply to SMS, WhatsApp and Viber as well?
Yes. These channels can be assigned to categories too and therefore follow the same brand as the rest of your content.
